Actor. Performer. Teaching Artist.

Actor. Performer. Teaching Artist.

I was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and raised all over. Me and my family moved around living in Chicago, and Fort Lauderdale, and Puerto Rico, and other places, before moving to Dallas where I started high school. At James Martin High School I started my theatre career by working in various different crews– as well as directing and assistant directing– various school plays. My intention was to continue working the production side of theatre, as that was my first love, but I was always curious about acting and had always secretly wanted to do it. I auditioned while in college at the University of North Texas for their school productions that year, and much to my surprise got a call back. I went to the call back, again, expecting nothing, and was actually cast in the play The Lady Revealed and the rest is history.

After being cast, and truly feeling how much I loved acting, I changed from a Theatre Production track to a Performance track, and graduated from UNT having majored in Theatre and minored in French. Around this time I also did a summer intensive at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland and got to explore the gorgeous world of Irish Theatre, while drinking many a Guiness. After that I continued my travels and went to live in Cusco, Peru for six months where I taught English in the women’s prison and drank many pisco sours. After making my way up South and Central America, I moved back to Texas to begin my career in Dallas theatre.

During my time in Dallas, I got to work in several wonderful plays, the first of which was Tina’s Journey which required me to be trained in mask acting. It was very new and difficult for me, but opened up this world of more surrealist plays, as well as allowing me to work with Latine theatre companies, both in Dallas and in Mexico City. I also got trained in being a teaching artist, with a focus on teaching children’s theatre, and that has been a surprising joy for me, considering I have all the natural nurturing instincts of a crocodile. In early 2020, I was cast as my first lead role in a professional production in Cara Mia Theatre’s The House on Mango Street. So, in mid February I quit my day job to pursue acting full time and then two weeks later Coronavirus hit the States, so the dream of being a full time actor was immediately cut short, and I cannot wait for the day that I find the timing of that incredibly hilarious. After trudging through the worst chunk of the pandemic, I was cast in Prism Movement Theatre’s Lucha Teotl as one of the wrestling commentators, and got to try out my standup skills by coming up with new jokes every night, which felt very necessary after how hard the past year and a half had been for everyone.

Finally, I made my way to New York, to train at the Atlantic Acting School and really polish my craft. I met an incredible and supportive ensemble, and get the privilege of serving as the Company Director for our theatre company: Penultima Theatre Company. I have also gotten to work with some wonderful teachers and directors, and performed in The Wolves and will be getting to perform in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, both on and off-broadway stage. In this time, I have also gotten to act in some short films… none of which, it appears, will ever see the light of day, but hey, I at least got something for my reel!

Me as a human, outside of being an artist? I enjoy playing the guitar and the ukelele and trying to teach myself to sing. I like horror movies, and reading, and playing video games– but only if they have a narrative mode, because my hand-eye coordination is embarrassing. I also entertain myself by learning languages, made easier by growing up learning Spanish and English simultaneously. I speak French and German as well as the other two. Lastly, my greatest loves, my pride and joys, are my two babies Egg and Rocky, the two sweetest and cutest pups, that I swear I gave birth to. Six hours. No epidural.
